  The annual Santa Claus Parades through the neighborhoods of the Fire Protection District with the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank and Christmas for Challenged Children are coming the first two weekends of December.

Sealed bids are requested by the St. George Fire Protection District #2 for the purchase, delivery and installation (not including electrical or natural gas tie-in) of one (1) natural gas electricity generator Bid No. SGFPD-2014-001. Bids will be received by the SGFPD #2, 14141 Airline Hwy, Suite 1-H, Baton Rouge, LA 70817 until 10:00 a.m. CDT on May 12, 2014 at which time and place all bidding will be closed and all timely received bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

 As thunderstorms rolled through the area, two separate house fires were started by lightning strikes only five minutes apart. No residents were home at the time. There were no injuries.
